About me
Brent Horvath, is owner and president of Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, Inc., a wholesale nursery in Hebron, IL. He grew up in the business, working for his mother and father at their companies, Intrinsic Landscaping, Intrinsic Perennial Gardens and Flowers by Intrinsic.
Today, his company, Intrinsic Perennial Gardens, Inc. sells and develops hardy perennials and ornamental grasses. Brent has developed over 100 new perennials, under Intrinsic Introductions. This includes Rudbeckia ‘American Gold Rush’ PP#28,498, recognized as 2023 Perennial Plant of the Year® and Andropogon gerardii ‘Blackhawks’ PP# 27,949 as the 2026 Perennial Plant of the Year® by the Perennial Plant Association. Brent is widely known as a sedum expert and is studying to become an Ornamental Grass expert.
Brent’s book, “The Plant Lovers Guide to Sedums” from Timber Press received a gold award from Garden Writer’s Association.
